I'm at the Dandridge Library enduring crying babies and the noise of motorboats from the fishing tournament across Douglas Lake.

The AT&T wireless modem gave up working about dinnertime last night. I've tried to use it repeatedly since and have gotten nowhere. Dunno if the problem is in us, in them, or somewhere in between.

I bought a LAN router for Precious and Mum's compy today. Can't figure out how it's supposed to work.

I'm using Mum's compy to access the Internet because for one reason or another, the USB wireless modem doesn't work very well on Precious.

Dial-up is back...

...But will be gone for good on June 1st.

My webhost is dropping their dial-up service next week and we've already lost some serviceability today. I'm sending this from the Public Library. Dunno if we'll have a reprieve or some other option soon.

My shopping-without-actually-buying habit has driven me to add the Amazon.com "Universal Wishlist Link" to my broswer's Favorites. Which means I'll be adding a lot of weird stuff to my wishlists there.
